Research
My research focuses on the spatial and temporal patterns of largemouth bass spawning in the Bay of Quinte, Lake Ontario. I am examining how water temperature, depth, wind exposure, vegetation, substrate, and other habitat characteristics influence where and when spawning occurs. By combining snorkeling observations, temperature monitoring, and GIS-based habitat modelling, my research aims to identify important spawning areas and assess how the timing of spawning overlaps with the recreational angling season. Ultimately, this work aims to help inform the conservation and sustainable management of largemouth bass populations.
