Research

As a researcher in freshwater ecology, my work focuses on how multiple environmental stressors, particularly salinization and warming, affect zooplankton communities. During my Master’s, I used outdoor mesocosm experiments to examine how these combined stressors alter zooplankton in Mediterranean shallow lakes, providing insight into community-level responses. Building on this work, my PhD will continue to use outdoor mesocosm systems to investigate how complex stressor interactions shape zooplankton dynamics and influence the resilience of freshwater ecosystems under future environmental change.
