Former Queen’s Biology student Regan Cross (PhD) and Dr. Cris Eckert have recently published an exciting new research paper.

Climate change can rapidly alter habitats, and some species may respond by shifting their ranges into newly suitable habitats. In this paper, the authors conducted transplant experiments with populations of a coastal dune plant species to simulate these range shifts, and found that species may be able to tolerate new environments without evolving novel adaptations. As we continue to see the impacts of climate change, their findings present some very interesting implications. Find the full article here!
